vERdict 3: The Most Awaited Med-Law Party
by Kevin Fernandez, PHI '08B

Back in 2008, then Brother Custodian (now Superior Exemplar) Mikhail Lew Perez Ver ϕ06 thought of an ingenious way to raise funds and to foster “camaraderie” with another organization, a Sorority to be exact. He came up with “vERdict: The First Med-Law Party”, in partnership with Regina Iustitiae Sorority of Ateneo Law. True enough, it turned out to be a very successful event, and so it was decided to be made a yearly one.
This year, Brother Custodian John Faustine Danan Gutierrez ϕ08B definitely did not disappoint. Last December 11, 2010, “vERdict 3: The Most Awaited Med-Law Party” was held at Club Tech Genius, Hotel H2O in Manila Ocean Park, in partnership with the Regina Iustitiae Sorority of the Ateneo School of Law. Other participating societies were the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority of the UP College of Medicine, the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and Phi Alpha Sigma Sorority, both from UERMMC Medicine, Lex Leonum Fraternitas of San Beda Law, the Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity of UP Law, and the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health Student Council.
To be frank, it was one hell of a party. Where else can you meet lovely lady lawyers-to-be and dance with jellyfish at the same time? Yes, you read that right – Jellyfish. There were jellyfish of different sorts around looking awesome under club lights. A club in the Manila Ocean Park had its perks – not to mention that the view of the ocean at night coupled with a few drinks was astonishing. Clearly, this year’s venue was the best one yet.
The program consisted of video presentations from the participating organizations, a drinking game between Med and Law (FYI, team Medicine won, with four members being Phi brods), and a fashion show, featuring Med and Law students working the “club runway”. To everyone’s delight, it was an open bar ‘til 11 PM. Again, one HELL-OF-A-PARTY! Now on its third year, vERdict has turned into an event that is watched out for in both the worlds of Law and Medicine.
Congratulations to Brother Custodian JF Gutierrez and the rest of the organizing team for a very successful event! All for PHI!
P.S. Kudos to Superior Exemplar Mikhail Lew Perez Ver for providing love in the air during the event! Congratulations on your newly found “endeavor”.
