Bad to the Bone 2010
by Topher Constantino, PHI '09

After finishing two exams in Anatomy and Biochemistry, it was definitely the time for the freshmen of UPCM 2015 to pump their bodies with serotonin and endorphins at the annual PHI freshmen detox party, “Bad to the Bone”.
Not even the heavy rains stopped the party people from filling up the function room of Robinson’s Place Residencies, Manila. A varied selection of finger food prepared at the snack bar was enough for the guests to enjoy each other’s company when the evening was just starting. Eventually, the shot glasses and cocktails arrived to heat the party up to the next level. Toasts were offered here and there – between brods, sisses, and the freshmen, with everybody getting acquainted with each other. If not on the jampacked dance floor getting it on under the groovy lights and “ear-gasmic” sounds, people would be seen lining up to have their pictures taken at the photo booth. Indeed, everybody had a great time strutting their stuff and trying on various props while striking their poses for each snapshot. As opposed to all the energy and the lively ambience that kept everybody inside the function room, a quiet and environment outside, just next to the pool area, was enjoyed by the others through conversations over drinks and smokes.
Even the PHI board takers (God bless you guys) took the time to meet and greet everyone as they took an hour or two to have a break from all the studying. PHI residents from different specialties were also present to take some time off from all the stress residency entails and enjoy at the party.
As the night went on, the freshmen of 2015 showed PHI that their “satisfaction” levels were filled to the brim as all of them had an awesome time. Nobody went home without a smile on his/her face and a “thank you” to the people who made it happen. Just like every year, it was once again seen that as great medical students the PHI are, they also know how to party.
A million thanks to the PHI Alumni who partied with everyone that night - Brods Richmond Go Ocao-Chang Φ00, Dante Carlo Valdez Valenzuela Φ04A, John Paul Emerson Serrato Mariñas Φ04B, Ted Russel Caronongan Ureta Φ04B, Gerald Marion Maramag Abesamis Φ05, Alvin Christopher Sy Chu Φ05, and Bayani Soriño Pasco Jr. Φ05, SE ’09-‘10.
Congratulations to Brod Jayson Cabalag Panganiban Φ09 for spearheading this successful event! And last but definitely not the least, thank you to Class 2015 for gracing us with your presence. See you again at our next party!
