The second half of the summer of 2010 was a busy one for Senior Guardian of the Temple Brod Joshua Anton Yabut Φ08B. He continued to lead the fraternity with its series medical and surgical missions. Together with the april missions,  over 1500 patients were served.

May 8 – Medical, Dental, and Surgical Mission

Brod John Paul Emerson Serrato Mariñas Φ04B, with the support of his family, spearheaded this mission in Antipolo, which served a total of almost 300 patients. This was no ordinary mission as the rest of the afternoon was spent in relaxation at the resort of the Mariñas family. The resident brods got to interact with the several alumni brods present during that day - Romeo Jalbuena Encanto Jr. Φ 97, Emmanuel Silva Prudente Φ97, Eduard Malaca Alfanta Φ98, Richmond Go Ocao Chang Φ00, Lawrence Frederick Aquino Tumaneng Φ00, Arnaldo Flores Laus Φ02, John Paul Emerson Serrato Mariñas Φ04B, Ted Russel Carongongan Ureta Φ04B, Gerald Marion Maramag Abesamis Φ2005, Alvin Christopher Sy Chu Φ05, and Bayani Soriño Pasco Jr. Φ05, SE 2009-2010. Together with the sisses, it was definitely an occasion to remember.

May 9 – Surgical Mission

This mission, which was held in Los Baños, Laguna, was organized by UPLB Philobioscientia. Only 70 patients were served. Alumni brods present were Donald Daniel Samson de Padua Φ91, SE 1996-1997 and Arnaldo Flores Laus Φ02.

May 14-18 – Dental and Surgical Mission

Every year, the graduating Brods and Sisses look forward to this dental/surgical mission held at the nation's number 1 summer destination - Boracay. This mission is sponsored by Sis Girlie Teotico-Ching, and to be more specific, was held in three Barangays -  Motag, Manoc-manoc, and Yapak in Boracay, Aklan. The first three days of the trip were spent in serving over 500 locals. “Nakakapagod talaga bai, pero worth it naman kasi libre ang accomodations, dinners at yung plane ticket pauwi”, said Brod John Michael Torricer Mendoza Φ08B. All brods from the Class of 2010 were present – Gerald Marion Maramag Abesamis Φ05, Alvin Christopher Sy Chu Φ05, Bayani Soriño Pasco Jr. Φ05, SE 2009-2010, and Recivall Pascual Salongcay Φ05.

May 22 – Surgical Mission

The UP Association of Biology Majors invited the fraternity as its partner to partake in a surgical mission in Bocaue, Bulacan. Approximately 150 patients were served by a group of brods mostly from Φ08B Payday, plus the ever-reliable John Michael Paraiso Baking Φ07.

May 25-26 – Surgical Mission

This annual mission, held at Barangay San Isidro, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, is sponsored by Brod Francis Emil Batnag Daytec Φ94, SE 1999-2000. This year, over 150 patients were served. All you have to do to enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Puerto Galera is to cut foreskin, which is why this is another anticipated mission, aside from the Boracay mission.

June 1 – Medical Mission

This medical mission, held at Antipolo City, was organized by Brod Arnaldo Flores Laus Φ02 and Mr. Francis Uy. Approximately 160 patients were served.

With a total of 10 missions serving over 1500 patients, the PHI ends its eventful and hectic summer. Service is indeed a part of the PHI spirit. Congratulations to Senior Guardian of the Temple Joshua Anton Ostoy Yabut for a job well done!

All for PHI!
