PHI Medical and Surgical Missions of April 2010

Every summer, the Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity exercises its service arm through medical and surgical missions in different locations. This year wasn’t any different. In cooperation with the Phi Lambda Delta, four missions have already been carried out this April, with more to come this month of May.
April 17 – Medical, Dental, and Surgical Mission
Organized by the Ateneo Christian Life Community, the PHI, together with St. Luke’s Hospital and School of Medicine, and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, was invited to this mission in Payatas, Quezon City, where in over 300 patients were served. Alumni brods present in the mission were Richmond Go Ocao Chang Φ’00 and Alvin Joseph Gonzales Dandan Φ’03.
April 21 – Surgical Mission
Held at Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, seventy patients were served at this surgical mission that was organized by the Council for Health and Development (CHD) and the Bayan Muna Pinagbuhatan Chapter. The only alumni brod present was Arnaldo Flores Laus Φ’02.
April 25 – Surgical and Dental Mission
This mission, held at Caloocan City, would not have been possible if it weren’t for the efforts of Brod Rommel Fernando Fernando Φ’95B, together with the Rotary Club of Quezon City Circle. A little over 50 patients were served.
May 1 – Surgical Mission
In the summer seasons of the last few years, Brod Joselito Amormio Centeno Jamir Φ’69A has been seeking the help of the fraternity to hold a surgical mission in his hometown Imus, Cavite. This year, approximately 90 patients were served. Other alumni brods who attended the mission include Eduard Malaca Alfanta Φ’98, Richmond Go Ocao Chang Φ’00, and Alvin Joseph Gonzales Dandan Φ’03.
