PKM AND ATENEO LAW'S REGINA IUSTITIAE HOLD BIGGEST MED-LAW PARTY OF THE YEAR
by Karl Fernandez, PHI '09
On the night of December 12, 2009, the Phi Kappa Mu together with Regina Iustitae Sorority of Ateneo Law, hosted Verdict II, the one and only Med-Law party. The party, spearheaded by incumbent Brother Custodian Michael Mo Φ2007, was held at Fiamma bar located along Jupiter St., Makati City. Other partners for this event included Sigma Tau Delta Sorority of UST Medicine, Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority of UP Law, Sororitas Regina Juris of San Beda Law, Pre-Medical Honor Society of UP Diliman, and our sister sorority Phi Lambda Delta. The major sponsors of the event were Honda Cars Manila and American Eye Center.
It was the perfect way for the brods to end the long busy week after organizing the annually held Christmas gift giving program of the fraternity, Only the PHInest 2009, and attending the turnover ceremonies of wheel chairs for Empowerment Through Mobility: WheelIn The Hope the following morning. The place started to get filled with guests as early as 8:30 PM, and got crowded an hour after. One of the emcees during the program was Tonicci Paulino Φ2009, who made sure that everyone in the bar was enjoying themselves. The short program included an Ateneo Law-UP Medicine drinking game wherein Michael Mo Φ2007, Martin Amor Φ2004a, and Monchi Goce Φ2009, were the winners and showed the crowd how to properly drink a beer bottoms up. The second part of the program was an audiovisual presentation segment of the organizers of the party, the Phi Kappa Mu and the Regina Iustitae Sorority. The AVP of the fraternity, which definitely amused the crowd as they cheered for the fraternity after, showcased the four pillars of the fraternity. Kevin Fernandez Φ2008b, was the one who made and conceptualized the video, which was starred by his batchmate Ardynne Mallari Φ2008b. The remainder of the evening was filled with enjoyment as brods mingled with the different groups in the place and made new friends. This was another successful event by the Fraternity, setting an avenue for building rapport and camaraderie with colleagues from various medicine and law schools, while never compromising fun and having a good time.
Some of the alumni present in the event were Edward Malaca Alfanta Φ1998, and David Vincent Antonio Φ2000, embodying what the spirit of brotherhood is really all about. ALL FOR PHI!
