MAAGANG PHISKO SA PACIO'S
by Monchi Goce, PHI '09
Beer was flowing the whole night long and pulutan kept on coming, round after round. Delicious dishes such as sisig, kilawin, and tokwa't baboy kept the stomachs of around 40 brods present that night full. Stories and experiences, as well as advice and words of wisdom, were shared by the resident brods to the new junior brods. In addition, some PHI alumni were present to meet the new batch; in attendance were Tocong Castillo Φ91, Ward Alfanta Φ98, and Ted Ureta Φ04B.
Apart from this event being a welcoming for the new batch of brods, the night was also memorable because of two microphones and a karaoke set-up. This was the first time that the brods were given a chance to let out their feelings without any hesitation—through non-stop singing. The entire room was ringing with the voices of the brods that night, with some brods choosing to sing old, reminiscing tunes, and some expressed their experiences on love through classic, tagos-hanggang-buto melodies. There was never a dull moment, and all the brods had good, clean, fun. It was truly an night to remember.
A semi-sem starter/welcome party for Batch 2009—Nine Tails, was held in Pacio's Grill at Quezon City last November 7, 2009. Brod Jonas del Rosario, Φ86 and President of the Phi Kappa Mu Alumni Association, was the gracious host to an early Christmas party aptly called 'Maagang PHIsko sa Pacio's'.
