The fraternity mourns the loss of a loyal son in Dr. Fidel Shane Pastrana Burgos Φ81, the Superior Exemplar during the fraternity’s golden anniversary. Brod Fides passed away early evening of March 26, 2009 due to a massive myocardial infarction. He was a practicing otorhinolaryngologist and the Medical Director of Lucena United Doctors Hospital in Quezon.

The fraternity held Omega Rites in honor of Brod Fides at his home in Tayabas, Quezon on March 29, 2009. Resident brods led by SE Bjay Pasco Φ05 were joined by Brods Joy Novero Φ82A and Rolly Padre Φ82A. Fides’ classmates, Φ80 brods Peter Bernardo, Ato Jose, Adrian Manapat, and Edwin Reyes remembered their good friend and brod in moving eulogies.

We, his brothers at the Phi Kappa Mu, are inspired by the exemplary life he led and remember him whenever we sing the fratenity hymn, “our hearts will ever yearn... in whatever lands we meet.”
