Beats pumping. Bodies gyrating. Bright neon lights flashing.As the night drew on, the alcohol continued to flow and the dancing seemed like it would never stop. Hundreds of Medicine and Law students united in Amber Ultralounge, creating new friendships and bridging the gaps between careers and schools.

Fresh faces and new names. Diverse Interests, same pleasures.  Different careers but one goal: To rock the night away. This is vERdict: The Biggest Med - Law Party of the Year.

Its most reincarnation, vERdict 4, was held last 28 January 2012 at the AMBER ULTRALOUNGE in the Fort Entertainment Center, Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. From 7pm til 11pm, the party rocked on as Amber was filled wall to wall with dancing and partying students, even spilling out to the adjoining areas. Hosted by the PHI KAPPA MU Fraternity of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UP – PGH), and the REGINA IUSTITIAE Sorority of the Ateneo School of Law, vERdict 4 brought together more than 200 future Physicians and Barristers from the different colleges in the Philippines. Joining us this year are the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority of the UP College of Medicine, the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health Student Council, Ateneo Baliklaya and Ateneo Box from the ADMU, the Health Sciences and Pre-Medicine Society from UP Manila, Lex Leonum of San Beda Law, Medici Omnes Duciens from MCU-College of Medicine, Philo Medica Scientia Sorority from PLM-College of Medicine, San Beda College of Medicine Student Council, Sigma Rho Fraternity from the UP College of Law, Sigma Beta Tau Phi Fraternity from the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, St. Luke’s College of Medicine Student Council and the UP Pre-Medical Honor Society from UP Diliman.

This year’s short program was hosted by Brod Kevin Chan Φ2011 and Rae Espinosa from Regina Iustitiae who entertained the audience with their quick wit and charming chemistry. The night started with games designed to show the pride and competitive spirit of their schools and organization. Prizes were provided by our sponsors, Cignal, Tanduay and Cabalen. Winners got special prizes such as P5000 worth of Gift Certificates from Cabalen. The Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity, represented by Brods Martin Amor Φ2004A, Jimbo Baking Φ2007 and Kurt Asperas Φ2010, championed the Beer Drinking Competition with the sisses of Regina Iustitiae. Video Presentations from the hosts and the different partner fraternities, sororities and organizations clearly demonstrated the honor and camaraderie inherent in our chosen schools and careers.  Free flowing drinks from the open bar of our sponsor TANDUAY were welcome additions to the drinks available from the Amber Ultralounge. The party ended on a high note, with everybody already eagerly anticipating the next vERdict Party!

The brainchild of Brod Mikhail Lew Perez Ver Φ2006, vERdict was conceptualized as an opportunity to promote friendship and camaraderie between the Medical and Law communities. In 2008, the Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity of the UP College of Medicine partnered with the Regina Iustitiae Sorority of the Ateneo School of Law in order to forward this idea. vERdict has now become the annual Med –Law School mixer, providing a relaxed, enjoyable venue for the different Med and Law schools and organizations to interact and create closer bonds.

Headed by Phi Kappa Mu’s Brother Custodian Karl Fernandez Φ2009, the party was a resounding success. Congratulations to PKM’s Custodian team for the amazing party. See you all in next year’s vERDict 5! ALL FOR PHI!
