PHI LIVE at Barangay Silangan and Pasay City
by Kevin Fernandez, PHI '08B

PHI Live is a project that is geared towards providing public schools and government health facilities with the necessary equipment to enhance the quality of education and service. The first installment of PHI Live was held last December 2009 when 42 LCD monitors were given to the Histology Lab of the UP College of Medicine. The project was the brainchild of PHI International, Inc. together with alumni from the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority. Through the leadership of project head Jose Antonio “Tonicci” Tan Paulino ϕ 09, another 35 monitors were donated to Barangay Silangan and the City of Pasay.
PHI Live: Brgy. Silangan
Last January 22, a small turnover ceremony was held at Barangay Silangan wherein 5 LCD monitors were given to their school. Barangay Silangan was one of the many places ravaged by the floods of Ondoy two years ago. With everything their community has lost to the storm, they needed all the help they could get. With the help of Brod Andro De Jesus Fernandez ϕ91, this turnover was made possible.
PHI Live: City of Pasay
The PHI Live turnover ceremony last January 24 at the Pasay City Health Office was graced with the presence of the mayor himself, Tony Calixto. A total of 30 LCD monitors were donated to their health facility. The turnover would not have been possible if it weren’t for the invaluable help of Brod Ryan Julius Angeles Bañez ϕ02 together with CHITS members Marie Irene Sy and Noel Bañez.
Congratulations to Brod Tonicci Paulino for the successful event! All for PHI!
More LCD monitors will be given to some of the departments of the Philippine General Hospital.
