The PHI continuously receives distinction as Brods Mario De Villa and Charles Yu are selected as among The Outstanding Physicians of 2009.

The PHI is given another reason to celebrate its excellence as two of her loyal sons, Dr. Enrique Ona and Dr. Eric Talens, are awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Filipino Physicians of 2007.

Throughout the years, the PHI has manifested one of its four pillars, leadership, by heading different departments of the Philippine General Hospital, and the UP College of Medicine.

The Phi Kappa Mu is committed to academic excellence and life-long learning. In this regard, the Continuing Medical Education Series was conceived in 2007. In a series of lectures aimed to highlight present trends in clinical medicine, exemplary brothers who are authorities in their respective fields volunteered to share their expertise by conducting lectures for consultants, fellows, interns and medical students from various hospitals and medical schools.
